Looking for volunteers?

JVC places volunteers in organisations which work with people who are in some way discriminated against, or marginalised, in Britain today.

Our volunteers are committed young people who give their time generously out of a spirit of Christian charity. They are with a placement for an agreed period, and attend regularly.

They are passionate about social justice, and they want to learn new skills, and use their existing abilities to make a difference. They are the Third Sector and Christian leaders of the future.

We are always interested in hearing from potential placement partners who can provide bright, committed and reliable volunteers with valuable, good quality work experience in social justice. Contact us for more information.

What some of our Placement Partners say about JVC volunteers:

“ Having JVC volunteers has been a great opportunity for Church Action on Poverty. What I have appreciated most is that all of the volunteers we have had have shared our values around social justice, and have brought a passion to the work they have done for us. In a charitable sector with scarce resources this has been invaluable in terms of another member of our team working hard for the same goals. Also, having someone who is slightly at arms length from your own organisation means that you have to look hard at what you do and why you do it, which is a useful process. “

“We usually have two volunteers every year

at L'Arche, and every year they are a great

asset to our work with the core members,

bringing vitality, enthusiasm and skills whilst

being in a community with a similar ethos allows the volunteers to join us in all

aspects of our shared lifestyle.  Quite a lot go

on to spend further time in this community or

others as evidence of a mutually rewarding partnership.”

Several JVC volunteers have received awards from their placements in recognition of their achievements and commitment.
